Journey through Life

I've always been told that I need to write because I supposedly express myself well. Whether or not that's the case, it is VERY definitely theraputic. The amazing thing, however, is what I learn from the printed word ... even if I write it myself!!

Over the years, I've been a young wife with babies. My life was filled with diapers, breastfeeding, and drooling. And then we moved on to teenagers where sports injuries, driving cars, and rebellion seemed to take over. Now, I'm a not-so-young wife (the wrinkles, gray hairs, and extra pounds remind me of that!) with children/adults living in or near my home with the extra addition of elderly parents close by. Through all of the years and the different experiences, God has revealed Himself in ways to me I never dreamed possible. He peeled back a little corner of the picture and let me see the true workings behind the scenes.

In every single instance, I've seen that life is most definitely a journey. Sometimes that journey has been a roller coaster ride, complete with ups and downs, jerking motions that made me sick, screaming until my throat hurt, and a sense of exhilaration and accomplishment when it was done. At other times, that journey has been a long car ride which included boring and tedious driving, vomiting, endless questions of when we were going to arrive, problems with transportation, and beautiful surroundings. The journey has been wonderful and scary, comforting and unsure, exciting and bittersweet; but above all, it's been full of God's incredible lessons and grace. And in each and every single moment of my life, God has so graciously reminded me that I'm His ... that He's in control ... that He has a plan ... and that He loves me. I used to think it was just about the journey, but I've learned over the years that it's so much more than that. It's about finding me ... in Him.

My prayer is that you'll be blessed by what you read here. That you'll be able to recognize a little bit of you in my experiences and learnings. And together with the Lord, we'll go on this adventure of life!
